I think I may actually give it a shot. I doubt I’ll make it to 50k, but it’s an excuse to give it a shot. :)

Same! I’ve never actually made it to 50k, on account of November being the time of year my schedule usually goes bananas, but it’s worth going for anyway. Could be fun, and if I don’t make it to 50k, I’ll make it to something, right? And if anyone wants to add me as a writing buddy, I’m crisium on there, too. The more the merrier.

If any of my friends are doing NaNo, feel free to add me as a buddy. I’m mojokimbo. I have no idea how active I’ll be, but I at least plan to make an attempt.

Cersei is the best character from the series. It bothers me when people hate her only because she’s a woman and love Jaime because he’s a man. It’s so sexist! I hope she’ll get her happy ending because she deserves it!

My dislike for Cersei and love of Jamie have nothing to do with their genders. I dislike Cersei because she’s awful to people. She spoiled her son literally rotten, then got upset at her younger son for not being more like his older crazy brother. She has redeeming moments, and she isn’t my least favorite character but she’s far from the best character in the series and it has nothing to do with her sex. Jamie, on the other hand, is one of the best characters in the series. He does some things that are questionable, and a few that are truly bad, but he has a lot of growth throughout the books, once he is away from Tywin and Cersei and is allowed to be his own man. He genuinely cares about Tyrion, where Cersei has open disgust for him. I like reading Jaime’s journey of transformation into a better person from one who was very jaded. Whereas I cringe during scenes with Cersei, because it feels like she’s spiraling downward.

In short, like who you like and more power to you, but not everyone who dislikes Cersei does so because she’s a woman. And not everyone who loves Jaime does so because he’s a man.

And now, after all this, he cares. There is no doubt that he cares about her, it is very clear in the text. So when he gets her finally to admit that she finds him attractive, he will gloat and gloat, and she will probably retract her statement or something but when it finally does get down to business- and I’m convinced it will- he’s actually going to be sweet. She’s inexperienced and he cares so he’ll find that hidden part of himself that knows how to be sweet and wants to be sweet and he’ll show it to her. And it’ll be amazing.

Even in the beginning when he was baiting her about her sex life or lack thereof, it didn’t read as bullying or distaste to me. It read as ‘tell me (with or without words) how much you want to bang me because my ego likes that’ and also ‘if you pounce me right now, I’d totally hit that.’ Maybe that’s ambitious on my part, but I think he would have if he could have provoked her to pounce.

So… the new season starts tonight, and I swear if Mark dies I don’t know if I can keep watching this show. Though honestly, I doubt they’d kill off Meredith or Cristina or Derek, so it’s probably between Mark and Teddy. But… if they kill Mark, not only will BOTH HALVES of my favorite ship be dead, my favorite bromance gets cut in half and I just have a lot of feels about this. Mark and Lexie belonged together, and Mark and Callie are the best part of the show for me. I’m just… I’m going to be over here, feeling my feelings. Carry on with your day.

An article about tallying the instances of homophobic language used on twitter. This is just… appalling. I bet a lot of these people don’t even mean it offensively to lesbians or gays, it’s just part of their everyday speech. Sad. Very sad.
